Neglected Blog

Please visit Kurdt's creativegarbagedump.blogspot.com. There's some really good stuff on there and apparently, less than a handful of people know about it. His music tastes kinda differ from mine but he makes up for it. For example, he did a great poem called "For You Blue". Head on down to it!

Thanks for the shout-out man!
Yeah, my tastes in music run a bit different than most people, oh well, we all run on different paths I suppose.
So cool that people are actually liking my poetry!

Oh, you're welcome! Just wanted to help out a little. My tastes in music DEFINITELY are different than what the Average Joe is into. I'll to a music post some time.

Exactly what are your tastes in music, Spitter? I wouldn't call mine different from someone's, but they tend to be closer to those of a Norwegian arsonist than your average grad student.

1920's jazz and blues, novelty (Spike Jones to Weird Al), some Roy Orbison, most classical, weird African tribal music, ragtime, swing, and like that. I don't like rap or what it stands for. I'm a little skeptical of rock, but it has some pretty good qualities. Can't listen to any loud music. Don't like The Rolling Stones. Don't like The Grateful Dead. The absolute worst "musician" of all time is Marilyn Manson. Not to fond of heavy metal...

When it comes to musical taste, I'm an old man!

I'm not against anyone liking this stuff (except Marilyn Manson). You're entitled to your opinions as much as I am. Just a matter of personal taste. Again, I'll do a music post some time.

And, allow me to add, I do share some of your tastes. I do enjoy ragtime, swing, classical, jazz, all that. George Gershwin and Ray Charles, are in my opinion, good to listen to during a nice downtown stroll with the fair autumn breeze.

But I also enjoy 60's-70's rock: The Hollies, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane-Starship, Grateful Dead, Santana, the list goes on.

Then again, as I mentioned, part of me is that big Mexican guy you see screaming "YEAH, F#!KIN' SLAYER, DUDE!" in the middle of a public library for no good reason.

Part of me is trapped in the 90's and can't get enough Nirvana or Radiohead.

As you can see, I find myself in all kinds of eras in music. But if there's one artist I love more than anyone else...more than Hendrix, Metallica, Gershwin, or Radiohead...

The Late, Great Hank Williams Sr.

I'm kind of trapped in the 90's too even though I like music from just about every era. I think the 90's were the last time that anything truly amazing was produced that became popular in the mainstream. There's good stuff now but it's mostly underground and I really can't stand anything popular thats on the radio. Soulja Boy makes me want to puke, for instance.
